Cannes Lions announces design and PR jury presidents

Cannes Lions has announce two more top industry authorities taking on jury president roles at the 2011 International Festival of Creativity.

Brazilian designer, architect and brand specialist Luciano Deos will lead the Design Lions jury to award the best creative and innovative use of design for brand and product communication and development.

Deos is founder and president of GAD’ and under his direction GAD’ has come to be considered one of the top brand service agencies in Latin America. With a career spanning over 25 years, Deos has led numerous projects for both Brazilian and international clients including Petrobras, CPFL Energia, Gerdau, Claro and Walmart and has won many awards including wins at Cannes Lions, New York Festivals, LIA, Caboré, and IF Design.

Deos said of his appointment to lead the jury: "I am very proud to be invited to be the president of the Design Jury at Cannes Lions this year considering this is the most respectable festival of creativity in the world. It's also a big responsibility since the design category in the festival and the role of design in our society is increasingly expanding. I am sure that together with my friends of the jury we will work hard to award the best of design in the world in 2011."

Meanwhile Dave Senay, president and CEO of Fleishman-Hillard International Communications, will preside over the 2011 PR Lions jury.

During a 30-year career in public relations Senay has worked across multiple communications practices throughout several regions of the world and is the driving force in the growth and development of one of the world’s leading communications firms.

Senay commented: "There is no more prestigious or credible global stage for promoting the excellence of the industry of public relations. I hope to build on the legacy of my predecessors Tim Bell and Paul Taaffe to broaden industry participation and deepen understanding and appreciation of the value of public relations in all of its dimensions."
