The French crowd-sourcing website Eyeka has launched into the US market a year after its UK launch.

The 40 person company which has raised $8m already has offices in the UK, but plans to open in San Francisco and New York.

The business operates by inviting clients to submit briefs to its 100,000 strong community of co-creators. Individuals have the opportunity to either answer the brief directly – for free – or to vote on the various submissions which have been put forward.

This say Eyeka makes it an excellent business in terms of researching as well as creating relevant brand content.

The business, whose clients include Sony, Renault, Honda and HSBC, was originally set up in 2006 by French entrepreneur Giles Babinet.
