2011 promises to see the number of mobile applications continue to rocket, but what can an App achieve for marketers and what is the best way to approach development? Have your say at MiNetwork's first event of 2011.
The discussion forum will be made up of a panel of experts, including Hoss Gifford, former director of digital innovation for Starworks, Bob Thomson, lead consultant on Storm ID’s development team and Colin Usher of Bluemungus, who will discuss the do’s and don’t of App development and how Apps can best be used in brand promotion.

Also on the agenda will be what decisions should be taken by clientside marketers ahead of commissioning the development of an App and how they can best match the needs of their brand.
Richard Draycott, managing director of MiNetwork, said: "2010 was clearly the year of the App and 2011 promises to see the number of mobile applications continue to go through the roof with the number of platforms offering apps increasing dramatically.
"Our first Business Briefing event of 2011 will offer attendees the chance to hear from some of Scotland's best App developers about how they see Apps being developed as marketing tools for brands and how clients looking to create Apps in the year ahead should approach this from the very earliest stages. The last thing any client wants to do is pay money to develop an App only to discover after a few months that it is not delivering what consumer need. It is vital to ask the right questions right form the outset and fully understand what an App is capable of and what it can deliver."
The event will also offer attendees the opportunity to get the networking year off to a flying start with a few drinks after the discussion, which is being held at Bond No.9 in Edinburgh.
