The French might be past masters at protesting for their rights but the countries latest group of disaffected workers are raising eyebrows internationally, the cast of L’Ile de la Tentation (Temptation Island).

The French reality show has seen its cast revolt over the producer’s predilection for throwing unwelcome diversions their way, such as shoveling cow pats, by demanding 400k euros in compensation.

Jeremie Assous, the lawyer representing the claimants, stated that languidly inhabiting the desert island is “incredibly tough” for his clients who “have to work from 7am to 3am every day.”

This work ethic sees the contestants (all couples) separated on an island and surrounded by attractive members of the opposite sex, all in an elaborate test of their relationships.

A total of 57 contestants are involved in the claim but Assous is assiduously pushing claims for more than 300 former contestants of other reality shows, saying: "production companies have profited for years from these people, now it's time to pay out."
