The Football League and its sponsor npower have launched the 'Festive Family Football' campaign to urge fans to attend their local club's Christmas matches.

There are four full fixture programmes between Boxing Day and 4 January and the campaign aims to get families flocking to the 144 League matches on offer.

Big Boxing Day games are traditionally the best attended matches of the year, drawing 400,000 fans through the turnstiles in 2009.

Gavin Megaw, director of marketing and communications at The Football League, said: “We are working together to drive more family football to League clubs using online advertising and a PR campaign."

London agency Big Helping has had a hand in the creative, but the rest of the campaign was developed in-house.
