Tesco joins the fashionistas with Brand Boutique

They may be most familiar for their groceries but having expanded into electrical appliances supermarket giant Tesco has set its sights on the fashion world.

The retailer already has a presence within the clothing sector but is attempting to go upmarket with the launch of Brand Boutique, a microsite within the Tesco domain which showcases labels from emerging fashion designers.

Tesco describes the site as a “a new online fashion store for the next big names in womenswear.”

Brand labels on offer include Tiger Blonde, Roby Rocks and Liquorish, Style Showroom and Amy’s of Paris.

The push comes as Tesco continues to diversify its non-food ranges into technology, fashion, health and beauty.

So far there’s no word on a value range.
