Netcars, the website which advertises used cars for sale, has appointed Manchester's Tangerine PR and its sister agency Juice Digital to handle its PR and social media.

The appointments follow Netcars acquiring financial investment from Airtours founder David Crossland, which it is using to beef up its site and now build up its profile.

Work gets underway on the account immediately, with Tangerine's automotive PR team and Juice working to launch the site to car dealers later this month.

A "large scale" push to consumers will follow in March next year.

Netcars' marketing director, Louis Rix, said the agencies had been appointed on the back of recommendations from business partners.

Sandy Lindsay, group managing director at Tangerine, said: “As an agency we have some fantastic experience within the motoring sector, so we knew immediately that we would be able to develop a comprehensive and creative campaign for Netcars, which would generate some great brand awareness within the marketplace."
