Two new designs for Morrison Bowmore Distiller’s Malt Scotch whiskies have been created by Breeze Creative.

An American bourbon cask, which has been maturing since 29 March 1969, has been released for sale worldwide, and saw Breeze work alongside glass-blowers Brodie Narin and Nichola Burns, to hand blow and sculpt each bottle using molten glass and stones collected from the shores of Islay.

Jewellers Hamilton and Inches was then commissioned to create a hand-engraved solid silver collar for each bottle, which rests on a slab polished natural slate.

Only 53 bottles have been made available.

Meanwhile, 402 bottles of Bowmore 1981 have also been made available, the first in a new series of Bowmore vintages.

Packaged in a wooden gift box with leather and copper detail, each bottle also has a certificate from the distillery manager.

Cara Laing, brand manager of Bowmore, said: “We are extremely proud of our Bowmore 40 Years Old and the Bowmore 1981. They are the result of a huge amount of care and skill by our dedicated and devoted team of craftsmen, and are a valued addition to our unrivalled collection of limited editions.”
