Manchester-based Studio Liddell has created a series of "lovely" and "mean" web animations to support the launch of car firm Skoda's new Fabia vRS model.

The Manchester-based company was commissioned on behalf of Skoda by the creative agency archibald ingall stretton.

Its animations, running on a special microsite and Facebook, have been designed to show the "different personalities" of the Fabia range.

Animated gingerbread men and lollipops show the "lovely" side while snakes, fire, lasers and lightning represent its more "mean" nature.

The CG models were brought to life by Studio Liddell's Autodesk 3DS Max for all modelling and animation. Rendering was handled using V-Ray, before posting the project with Adobe After Effects and finishing it in Autodesk Smoke.

James White, head of new business at Studio Liddell, said: "Having been fans of the original Fabia Lovely Stuff campaign we were delighted to be involved in turning the Fabia brand a little meaner."
