Numiko has been appointed to develop a new website for Cornwall Mining World Heritage.

The Leeds-digital agency won the public tender to design and develop a new portal which will promote the social and cultural aspects of Cornish and West Devon mining heritage and which will also aim to cement its global important as one of the most complete surviving cultural landscapes in the world.

Meanwhile, for the third-year-running, Numiko has also created the website for ITV1 programme, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here, which began running at the weekend.

The site has been overhauled and now features an online show called ‘Ant and Dec’s Jungle Tea Break’, constructed of three-to-four minute daily episodes, exclusive to the website.

The programme features comedy sequences and celebrity gossip from the pair, with the site also continuing to feature feeds to Facebook and Twitter alongside a new feature called ‘The Star Track emoticon’ – a widget featured on the home page which reveals the moods and the activities of those in camp.

This year’s site also features customised Flash widgets which highlight archive content and also act as a data acquisition tool to capture email addresses for daily email alerts.

The homepage will also be used to announce which celebrities will enter the show, with a CMS that is under the control of the editors.
