Cameron drops personal photographer from public payroll
David Cameron's personal photographer and website producer are to be taken off the civil service payroll after the prime minister was criticised for hiring "vanity staff".
Andrew Parsons, Cameron's personal photographer on the election trail, and Nicky Woodhouse who worked on the WebCameron site, will go back to being paid by the Conservative party.
The U-turn comes just a fortnight after their appointments were confirmed and follows criticism of Cameron's decision to hire the pair at a time when the public sector faces severe cuts.
