Birmingham agency Switch has been appointed to rebrand IET Connect, the Benevolent Fund of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

Switch said it was approached on the back of work with the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund and the Civil Service Benevolent Fund.

Client services director, Andrew Wishart, said: "We understand that our experience working within the Third Sector attracted IET Connect to us initially.

"A whole new communication strategy has been developed and the new branding, website and marketing collateral we are developing will further forge the relationship between IET Connect and its members.

"The branding and communications are being built around particularly strong, welfare driven case studies featuring IET members who have benefited from the support of the fund. It was important for the integrity of the messaging to portray real people with real issues being given real help."

The new branding will first feature on the organisation's website before being used across a range of materials and media throughout 2011.
