An Australian beer fan who devised the alcohol specific search engine, Groggle, has backed down from a six month legal tussle with Google.

Cameron Collie claims to have arrived at the title independently by playing on the colloquial Australian expression for drink, “grog.”

Google’s lawyers quickly got itchy however over a perceived infringement upon their trademark, prompting a long running legal battle.

Collie is remaining tight lipped on the terms of the agreement, which has seen him adopt the less catchy, less contentious monicker of drinkle.

In comments on Twitter however he hinted at a substantial financial settlement by stating “To celebrate the (ex)Groggle team will drink a bottle of Australia’s most expensive beer Crown Ambassador.”
