The website for Katy Perry’s new fragrance, Purr, has been developed by Quba.

The site by the Sheffield digital agency aims to be a one-stop-shop and information point for UK customers about the US singer and allow fans to sign up for newsletter alters and also to follow on Facebook and Twitter.

The Purr site will go live next week ahead of the Christmas retail period.

Louise Hatch, web trading manager at Jigsaw esl, the sole UK and Ireland distributor for the Katy Perry perfume said: “I have been really impressed by Quba’s plain talking yet creative approach when working on new websites.

“Knowing that they would communicate clearly with the Katy Perry team and work hard to understand their requirements made Quba easy to recommend. We’re looking forward to the launch of other sites and working hard to promote what we do and boost our sales figures in 2011.”

David Sealey, new business director for Quba, added: “Working with high profile people and organisations is always exciting and it’s something we have been doing more of in the last few years.

“The global Katy Perry brand is massive so we are thrilled to be helping in the UK where she appeared as a judge on this years’ X Factor. She is obviously a huge name to have on the portfolio but we will be using the same techniques to drive sales and traffic for this site as we would for any other.”
