The Walker Agency has designed a new website for arts and crafts retailer Hobbycraft.

Bournemouth-based Walker Agency said the aim of the redesign was to "create a fresh, contemporary experience that reflected the nature of HobbyCraft’s products and their inspirational crafting ideas".

It came up with the new design earlier this year before redevelopment work started in September.

Creative director Daryl Irvine said: "This redevelopment is the culmination of multiple elements of work throughout 2010 during which we re-evaluated the site against HobbyCraft’s online strategy.

"We have already rolled out a newsletter creative framework, setup Facebook and Twitter campaigns and are preparing the client’s first interactive online brochure for Christmas. This redesign will tie all these channels together and push the brand further into digital spaces."

Hobbycraft was bought by Bridgepoint in a £100m management buyout deal in April.
