Glasgow Subway is being used as a trial ground for the launch of new Wi-Fi and 3G technology ahead of its rollout on the London Underground.

It is hoped by outdoor advertising firm Primesight that the ability to connect to mobile and WiFi will make their advertising sites a more attractive proposition, allowing commuters to talk about the ads running underground.

Primesight, which holds the £6m Glasgow subway out of home advertising contract, is currently launching a new network of digital screens which will display advertising and news supplied by STV on platforms at the Glasgow underground.
