Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) has tasked digital agency Spider Online with reviewing the myjobscotland website with the aim of improving the user experience of the site.

The Glasgow digital agency has been tasked with reviewing the design, architecture and usability of the site having previously handled a successful SEO campaign which Spider Online has run for the last 18 months.

Myjobscotland is the shared recruitment portal developed for Scotland’s 32 local authorities, which processes around 300,000 applications a year.

The agency will work closely with StepStone, the company that built the application tracking system for the site, as it aims to improve the navigation and user perception of the site and find the best method of driving relevant traffic.

John Campbell, managing director of Spider Online, explained; “Our experience of working on the soon to be released PIN's portal and our extensive experience of working on large complex public sector sites such as FirstGroup and Aberdeen University were integral in COSLA’s decision to use Spider Online for this key role. We will be looking at recruitment in the digital channel for features and functionality that can improve the site for the large number of candidates and job seekers who use it to find jobs in the public sector in Scotland.”
