California-based Simple Shoes has launched “Simple Shoes Identity Design Showdown: You vs. Our Agency”, a design competition pitting the design community against the sustainable sneakers company’s allotted agency.

Interested designers should submit identity design examples from their portfolio by 25 October and Simple Shoes will then invite five favourite designers to join the design roster, with a $2,500 guarantee for responding to the brief. The roster will compete against One Trick Pony, Simple’s current agency, and the winning brand identity will receive an additional $5,000 and their work will become the new official Simple Shoes brand identity.

Will Pennartz, marketing manager of Simple Shoes, said of the competition: “Simple has never really done things according to the status quo, so when we started thinking about giving our brand identity a facelift for our 20th anniversary, we wanted to shake things up a bit.”
