Lancashire digital agency JP74 has designed and built the new D&AD website.

The Padiham agency has been working on the organisation's new online home for the past year, having previously designed D&AD's awards site and worked on its email marketing.

Pete Walker, JP74's managing director, told The Drum: "It was important to showcase the wealth of creative works in a well structured, easily navigable framework, rather than anything fancy. Simply because the content is so strong and speaks for itself.

"We've built a framework for D&AD that they can take on and now we can start adding all the fun stuff - what you can see now is only a small part of the functionality to come.

"The site, and the custom platform behind it, will allow D&AD to add so much more content to its site than it ever could before. And it's got a really powerful search engine that will be great for students, for instance, who will have reams of content to go through."

The site is likely to come under particular scrutiny given that is target audience is designers and creatives. But Walker said their responses would be welcomed.

"We're now in a beta phase, so the feedback we get is actually really helpful. We haven't just built the site and left it at that; this is an ongoing process and we'll take on board the feedback we get and see what we need to do.

"The site needs to work all over the world. It needs to be easy to find stuff even if English isn't your first language.

"If you keep checking back on the site you will see that there will be loads more functionality going live in the near future."
