Newcastle marketing agency bgroup has been placed into liquidation blaming a diminishing pipeline of client work.

The 10-year old agency was put into voluntary liquidation by its founder Si Bales because it has struggled "to meet the large overheads associated with agency work".

But Bales is keeping open sister company bdaily, a North East business news service which has moved into new offices.

She said: “We explored every avenue we could to save the business before taking the incredibly difficult decision to call in the insolvency practitioners.

“I am extremely proud of the level of work our dedicated team has produced over the last decade and saddened by the unfortunate action I have had to take.”

At its peak bgroup employed 22 people but Bales said its closure had resulted in four people losing their jobs. Its insolvency is being handled by Begbies Traynor.
