Leeds-based The Vast Agency is preparing the ninth edition of Shufti, a collaborative project to showcase the agency's art direction.

'Shufti 9' sees The Vast Agency working with New York-based Japanese director/photographer Timothy Saccenti.

Matt Austin, art director and co-owner of Vast, whose fashion clients include menswear brands Baracuta, Puffa, Gabicci and One True Saxon as well as high street giants Debenhams and House of Fraser, said: "In a world where information is available at the touch of a finger, the currency of ideas has never had greater value. I'm not interested in vanitypublishing; we invest heavily in Shufti because we know that good ideas, beautifully executed, stand out and ultimately make a positive impact on our clients' bottom line.

"Shufti helps us to show clients what we can do. In the age of the sound bite, with news told in just 140 characters, the timelessness of storytelling is ever more powerful. When we created Shufti, we invited some of the best talents we could find to work with us and help craft each narrative. Now we get approached by creative people at the peak of their careers from all over the world who want to work with us to develop the next chapters."

Shufti 8 told a love story set on the Amalfi coast, which saw Vast working for the third time with Stockholm-based photographer Kalle Gustafsson who has shot campaigns for Paul Smith, Oscar Jacobson and Speedo.

'Shufti 10' is already being planned and will be set closer to home."
