Papergirl, an art project from Berlin that sees rolled up artwork handed out for free in the style of American paperboy deliveries, is coming to Manchester in October.

Random passersby will be handed a roll of art featuring work from all over the world if they are lucky enough to be in the vicinity of one of the Papergirl cyclists.

Each roll will contain a unique collection of illustrations, photography and screenprinting, with artists from Russia, Estonia, Canada, Italy, Spain, USA, Sweden, Italy, Germany and the UK showcasing their work.

All of the artists taking part will feature in an exhibition held at the Soup Kitchen in Manchester's Northern Quarter from 1-21 October.

Papergirl was started in Berlin in 2006 by Aisha Ronniger as a reaction to media discussion about the tightening of graffiti laws to include paste ups.

Manchester will be Papergirl's first appearance in the UK and if you want to be in with a chance of grabbing some of the artwork you will have to act fast.

The organisers say: "Giving the work out by bike means that there is no time for any stereotypes when choosing recipients of the pieces. You have to react fast and spontaneously. Chance plays its part."

You can find out more about Papergirl, its launch tomorrow night at the Soup Kitchen and exhibition, on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.
