Canny Scots cash in on Pope via eBay
Car bound pilgrims to today’s open air sermon at Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park may be left praying for a miracle to secure a car parking space. But fortuitously for the more materialistically minded an enterprising local going by the name of ‘weescottyboy’ is offering a solution, for a price.
With a parking spot going spare the local resident is touting his prized driveway to the highest bidder on eBay. But with bids starting at a wallet depleting £199 the pricey solution is likely to appeal only to the most devoted of followers.
With five hours left to bid no-one has thus far coughed up but at a mere 100 yards from the venue and boasting a secure garage for as “long as they need” the pontiff himself might be minded to drop off his Pope Mobile.
It’s a sale which would surely leave Wee Scotty kissing the tarmac.
