Scottish Event Award Winners announced
This year’s Scottish Event awards have been announced with music event, The MOBO Awards, held last year in Glasgow, picking up the Chairman’s Award.
The MOBO Awards were also recognised in the Best Medium Event Category.
Meanwhile, the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) picked up four awards on the evening, including the Events Services Grand Prix, Best Large Venue, The Green Award and Best Marketing Campaign.
The awards, which recognise the achievements of the Scottish events industry, were handed out at the newly renovated Glasgow Central Station Hotel, also saw Fran McIntyre, managing director of QD Events, awards with the Event Professional of the Year prize.
Other winners on the evening included Cycling Scotland, which won the Event Management Grand Prix for Freshnlo Pedal for Scotland, which also won Best Sports Event, Best Educational Event and Best Event in an Outdoor Space.
The Royal and Ancient Golf Club for The Open Championship Official Hospitality By Sodexo Prestige won Best Corporate Event, while Best Large Event went to Piping Live 2009.
