A new week long series of events is set to take place in the run up to the Dadi Awards in Leeds this year as the Leeds Digital Festival 2010 prepares for launch in September.

The Leeds Digital Festival is being developed by Leeds Media in association with Leeds, York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, Marketing Leeds, Screen Yorkshire, Leeds College of Art and Holbeck Urban Village and will take place during the week of 8 -12 November leading up to the Dadi Awards.

It is hoped that clients, agencies and those interested in digital issues will attend events during the week and then stay on to see they very best that the region has to offer in terms of digital expertise as the Dadi Awards are announced on the Friday night at the Royal Armouries.

The programme of events that will make up the weeklong digital festival will be announced in a round two weeks time when a new website, www.leedsdigitalfestival.com, will be launched. The website has been created by Exstatik, while the identity for the Leeds Digital Festival has been created by Thompson Brand Partners.

During Leeds Digital Festival organisations and individuals will also be encouraged to run their own fringe events to support the major pillar events being planned and led by the individual partners.

Speaking of the development of Leeds Digital Festival Gary McCall, chairman of Leeds Media, said: "Our aim is to showcase the Leeds City Region as a centre of digital excellence to a national and International audience building on the prestigious DADI awards being held in Leeds for the third year. We wanted to signify a real step change in the quality of events that we will be offering this year. Ideally people will come into Leeds to attend the pillar events, which will take place towards the end of the week, and stay on in the city to attend the Dadi Awards."

Further information about Leeds Digital Festival will be unveiled from 13 September onwards.
