Following its short absence, online chat forum Chatroulette has returned with a focus on video rather than chat.

The site, plagued with controversy over the number of users engaging in amateur porn and infamous for some revealing unclothed body parts to unsuspecting users , went offline last week and was thought to be aiming to ‘clean up’ the webcam enabled service.

This was initially only meant to take a few hours, going offline last Tuesday, but this has taken until this morning (Monday, 30 August) for the site to return in the UK.

In June it was understood that the site was considering introducing a penis filter to counter the problem of male genitalia being produced during live chats.

Meanwhile, new horror movie, The Last Exorcist has produced an ad geared specifically at scaring ChatRoulette users – the results of which can be seen through a YouTube film below.
