Gallery: True North designs identities for Bristol museums
Manchester agency True North has revealed the final identities it has designed as part of its rebranding of Bristol City Council's museums. See them in our gallery here.
The Manchester agency has unveiled designs for Bristol's Museums, Galleries and Archives Service, The Red Lodge Museum, The Georgian House Museum and Bristol Archives.
These designs complete the rebrand project that has previously seen the agency create identities for Mshed and Bristol Museum and Art Gallery.
Alan Herron, True North's creative director, said: "Bristol Museums, Galleries and Archives project has been a wonderful journey through the history of this great city and a unique design challenge to create a family of brands each with their own distinct personalities.
"The identity that we have produced for The Red Lodge Museum reflects the hidden nature of the building and hints at the treasures to be found within.
"For The Georgian House Museum we portrayed the idiosyncratic architecture of the period and classical typography to give visitors a hint what to expect.
"With Archives, with the increased interest in family history and genealogy, the cursor arrow indicates that this is the place to start your search. ”
Rebecca Burton, deputy head of Bristol Museum and Archives at Bristol City Council, added: 'The identities capture the essence of what each museum is about, helping us to promote the individual museums and Bristol Archives, but within a strategic brand framework of the Museum service and city council."
