Music streaming service we7 has now exceeded 6.5 million licensed songs on its music platform, it announced today.

With over three million users in the UK, the music on-demand ad-funded online business has more than doubled the number of on songs on its site in less than a year.

Steve Purdham, CEO, for we7, commented: “We have learnt that the quality of the music database was far more important than the size, and having the right songs has always been better for our audience than simply having lots of songs. However we are ecstatic that we can continue to increase the depth of the music for our users and that we can embrace more artists and labels, paying them a fair amount for every song that is played.”
