Automotive brands Meguiar's and Valeo hire Wyatt for PR push

Two leading automotive brands have appointed Birmingham-based Wyatt PR for a push in the UK market.

Meguiar’s, the premium car care range has appointed Birmingham-based Wyatt PR, part of Wyatt International, as its UK PR agency following a multi-agency pitch process.

Since it was established in the USA in 1901, Meguiar’s has grown to become a dominant force in the car care market. Meguiar’s UK is based in Daventry.

Commenting on Wyatt’s appointment, David Evans, general manager at Meguiar’s, said: “Meguiar’s has an unbelievable fan base with our advocates winning over more customers every day. We brought in Wyatt to help harness this customer advocacy as they demonstrated the kind of enthusiasm for our brand which is only bettered by our loyal customer base. The next 12 months will be compelling as we look to raise our profile further by partnering our marketing and exhibition agenda with Wyatt’s exciting PR campaigns.”

The agency has also been appointed by automotive Valeo Service as its UK PR agency.

The company, part of French-owned Valeo, is a supplier of Original Equipment Manufacturer parts to distributors, garages and autocentres across Europe. With a portfolio of products and new innovations ready to launch to the UK market, Wyatt has been called in to deliver the UK launch of several highly-anticipated products for the automotive aftermarket.

Meanwhile, Wyatt International has welcomed back Melanie Chaplain-Spence as its new business development manager. The former Wyatt account manager returns to the agency after a decade away, to develop business relationships.

Chaplain-Spence said: "Wyatt cultivates an ‘every individual counts’ climate, and this principle is also true for client relationships – our partnerships have enjoyed longevity as we offer all the benefits of a full-service agency, but deliver with the attentive approach of a boutique agency. Combined with the swell of our creative talent, and the stability and heritage of the agency, it’s not been difficult opening new doors."

She previously worked on key B2B and B2C accounts for Wyatt some years ago, and later combined a career in business development with continuing study in psychology and a BA in design.
