The first iPod game from Rice Media entitled ‘Blobstacle’ has had over 2,000 downloads on its first day of release.

The game, from the Birmingham digital production agency, uses the iPhone tilt function to help the Blobstacle hop, jump, bounce and dodge its way through different city environments.

Paul Rice, managing director at Rice Media explained that development of the game was as a result of the agency looking to diversify its service offering and develop its understanding of iPhone app mechanics.

“Blobstacle is a great casual game that uses the beautiful ‘accelerometer’ in the phone in order to allow you to control the character through devious challenges levels of difficulty. It is a lot of fun and amazingly addictive- we are really pleased with the finished product,” he added.

The full app download is available for 59p from the app store.
