The coalition government is set to embrace Britain’s heritage and history in a drive to convince more tourists to our shores, in contrast to the previous government’s preoccupation with modernity, in a new marketing drive.

Spurred by a need to right the country’s balance of payments such totems of Britishness as castles, country homes and national parks will take precedence over unkempt beds and dissected sharks languishing in vats of formaldehyde in an attempt to lure high spending visitors..

It comes as David Cameron cites a failure to adequately embrace those traits which carry greatest currency for tourists, a fact Cameron attributes to an over enthusiasm for “Cool Britannia.”

Added urgency is provided courtesy of the economic crisis and a need to lure tourists and their wallets to our shores, to provide a much needed economic fillip.
