Two Mancunian teens have come up with just the ticket for bewildered bus travellers, a handy smartphone app that tells you how many minutes your bus is running late.

Ditching their school timetables for those of the public transport variety the duo, Josh Picket, 15 and Ben Webb, 19, correlated scheduling information released by Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive.

This data was harnessed by the enterprising double act to create a pair of apps; one which displays bus times at every bus stop around the Greater Manchester area and another which shows how close the next bus is to your stop on a map.

Picket told the Manchester Evening News that the service was still being polished but would be made available for free in the interim, stating: “We haven’t done this to make any money out of it, it was just to show what could be done.

“This solves a genuine problem that people have – wanting to know when the next bus is coming."
