The Drum has learned that Bauer has appointed former XFM Scotland marketing director Stuart Duncan as head of brand and marketing within its Scottish operation.

Duncan, currently marketing director of Edinburgh marketing agency Multiply will take on a role, thought to oversee all of Bauer’s Scottish radio marketing output, having previously split its marketing between each station.

He will be based at the offices of Radio Clyde.

He commented; "I'm very excited about taking up this new position. Bauer Media is an ambitious and innovative company, and this new role will give me the opportunity to work across some of the most respected radio brands in the UK. “

Duncan left the now defunct XFM Scotland in April 2008 for an account director role at Multiply.

Prior to being promoted to oversee XFM’s marketing he was marketing controller for GCAP Media.

Graham Bryce, managing director of Bauer Radio-Scotland, added: "Stuart will be a fantastic addition to the team. He has experience of the radio industry in addition to a wealth of experience in marketing, digital and brand development over the past few years - I know he will play a key role in the future growth of our brands and audiences across Scotland."

Meanwhile, The Drum has also learned that Gillian Stobo, marketing events manager for Radio Clyde, Bauer’s Glasgow radio station, has left the company after nearly 10 years.
