Peter Salmon, director of BBC North will apparently not be looking to relocate his family to the north-west in the near future.

According to Media Guardian, Salmon will not move his family ‘for the moment’ as he does not want to disrupt his children’s education.

Salmon, who was born in Burnley, currently rents a flat close to MediaCity UK, the base of BBC North, and has said that he will move to Salford ‘when the time is right.’

The BBC has already announced that it plans to transfer CBBC, BBC Sport, BBC Learning and Radio Five Live to the north west of England next year, causing unrest amongst its London based employees.
