Scotch whisky brand Ballantine’s is currently rolling out new packaging over the coming weeks, having recently renewed its sponsorship of The Barclays Scottish Open.

The packaging redesign, handled by Nude Design in London was first launched in the Asia Duty Free outlets a few weeks ago and will reach the Korean marketplace around the end of August before rolling out worldwide.

Meanwhile, the brand has also signed a new three-year-deal with The Barclay’s Scottish Open, which it has held an association with since 2007.

The deal will also see the continuation of support for international players such as Northern Ireland’s Graeme McDowell, a global ambassador for the brand, as part of its promotional activities.

These will include on-course visibility, VIP hospitality, private whisky education seminars and the Ballantine’s 12 birdie hole.

Peter Moore, global brand director for Ballantine’s talks to The Drum exclusively about the brand’s heritage and his plans for the future in the next issue of The Drum, also available to read on the MiNetwork site.
