NME Radio has announced it will bring back presenters and return to DAB after signing a new licensing arrangement with Town & Country Broadcasting.

Last month the IPC-owned indie music station went online only and ditched presenters when its production deal with DX Media was cancelled.

But it is now back on Sky and will return as a "full presenter-led" station from September broadcasting to some DAB regions.

The station, a spin-off from the weekly NME music magazine, will continue to broadcast online at nme.com and is planning to launch an iPhone radio app.

Paul Cheal, publishing director of NME, said: “There has been a fantastic groundswell of support from listeners, the radio industry, record labels and artists to find a way to keep NME Radio on air.

"We're pleased to be working with an established broadcaster that has successfully developed Nation Radio into one of the UK's fastest-growing stations and we are both committed to making NME Radio an even better service.”

NME Radio launched as a 24 hour music service in 2008 after regional trials on DAB in London and Manchester.
