A round-up of the week's media and marketing news from the mouths of those making the headlines...

"There is... a nice irony in being an agency that’s at the forefront of where marketing communication is going and having a really down-to-earth name."

Brass (nee Brahm) chief executive John Morgan tells us he has decided to rebrand the Leeds marketing agency, and its sister outfit Swamp, to become more digitally focused. "I guess what we hope to achieve is a business that is sustainable for the rest of our lives. A business that is solely focused on allowing us to craft our work and have great times with clients, and not worried about taking over the world. If we get to 6-8 people, that'll be nice and tidy we think, no more than that."Martin Chapman, formerly creative director of Liverpool digital firm Mando and the man behind new company Error, speaks modestly of his ambitions for the new agency. "Awful mood in office today - emerges Breakfast is very likely moving to Salford by 2012 and we'll have 6 months to decide if we go too."BBC producer James Laidler lets slip on Twitter that the corporation is planning to move its flagship BBC1 Breakfast programme to its new Salford Quays base. "This is going be just one of the many amazing shows that are going to be made in Manchester and will really put the area on the map. This is fantastic news and we’re very excited by the whole prospect."But while some Beeb employees may be downbeat about leaving London, Sinead Greenaway, CEO of MediaCityUK developer Peel Media, could not be happier that Breakfast is coming to the new complex. "The Act introduces a brave new world and the repercussions could be much wider than Parliament intended."Glasgow lawyer Colin Hulme warns that bosses of media and marketing companies found guilty of winning business contracts by offering huge discounts or lavish corporate hospitality could find themselves in trouble as a result of new anti-bribery legislation. "I would like to dedicate this little victory to all those members of the travelling public who have suffered verbal abuse and hidden extras at the hands of O’Leary."

Easyjet boss Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou wins damages from rival budget airline Ryanair over an ad which appeared to brand him a 'Pinocchio' character. He enjoyed the victory over Ryanair counterpart Michael O'Leary, who said he apologised "unreservedly". "We are extremely fortunate to have Cindy on board. Her experience and understanding of the MPA’s aspirations made her our first choice for the position, so much so that the original budget set for the role was reconsidered to secure Cindy as the MPA’s first managing director."Mike Perls, chairman of the MPA (formerly Manchester Publicity Association) says the organisation dug deep to hire its new MD, Cindy Simmons, the first paid employee in its 90-year history. "Visit West Lothian is a campaign which is long overdue. This area has so much to be proud of and so much for visitors to see and do."

Martyn Day, chair of Visit West Lothian explains that despite the region having a lot to shout about, few people could point to it on a map. Hence its marketing push. "A phone which simply cuts you off mid sentence is no ....... use to me!”Apple continues to face flak from online commenters despite purporting to have conquered its much talked about reception issues.
