Just as Apple thought they had finally solved the infamous reception interference problems on their iPhone 4 range another potential bug has emerged.

A software patch is now available to correct the way that different versions of the handset display signal strength, by altering how many reception indicator bars a phone displays

But some 3GS users report that uploading the IOS4 software causes their phones to drop more calls, a glitch which leads the phone to suddenly reboot during a conversation.

One user on Apple’s forums, skimad4x4, complained: “A phone which simply cuts you off mid sentence is no ....... use to me!”

Apple has yet to give official advice to users experiencing this problem but is scheduled to hold a press conference this evening to discuss the ongoing iPhone 4 reception problem.
