Susie Davidson, former director for Smarts has joined The Edrington Group as PR manager for Malts.

Davidson left Smarts after seven-and-a-half years at the agency and has been made responsible for global PR strategy and the implementation of PR initiatives across both whisky brands The Macallan and Highland Park.

She will also oversee global PR strategy development, working with agencies in all key markets in order to deliver global PR projects for regions including the USA, Asia and Europe.

Davidson explained to The Drum her reason for choosing to move to client-side communications; “I was seeking a new challenge to take my PR and communications skills to the next level and client-side seemed like a sensible route to achieve this. The opportunity to work on such high profile, prestigious brands within a strong and ambitious business was the real attraction for me. Also overseeing a global brief is something I've been keen to explore for some time.”

Davidson will report to Ken Grier, director for Malts and will work with both brand teams for The Macallan and Highland Park.
