Birmingham Royal Ballet has appointed Clive Reeves Public Relations to support its youth project Ballet, Birmingham & Me.

Eighty Birmingham youngsters are taking part in dance lessons and rehearsals organised by the Royal Ballet with the aim of eventually performing their own version of Cinderella at the Birmingham Hippodrome in December.

The project has been organised with the help of the Birmingham Youth Service and Birmingham Association of Youth Clubs and with funding from the Big Lottery Fund and the People Dancing programme

Simon Harper, media and PR manager for Birmingham Royal Ballet, said: “Our company has an intensive touring schedule which takes me on the road a considerable amount, so we needed a PR agency in Birmingham who could really get under the skin of Ballet, Birmingham & Me and manage the project autonomously."

David Kuczora, account manager at Clive Reeves Public Relations, added: “This is an ambitious project because of its sheer scale, uniting 80 young people from diverse backgrounds each with their own story to tell.

"It’s really showcasing the best of the Birmingham, with arts educators and youth workers partnering to deliver a truly worthwhile programme.”
