A management buy out of marketing agency Avian has taken place which sees Scott McCallum take over the role of managing director from George Gall.

McCallum, previously Avian’s client services director has become the majority shareholder in the business, alongside David Ednie production director and Alasdair Chisholm, creative director, although Gall will work with Avian as on a consultancy basis.

Avian was established following a management buyout of Dundee agency Baillie Marshall in the 90’s, which was led by Gall.

McCallum has said that he plans to retain all 25 employees along with the full portfolio of clients including Senergy, Lloyds TSB Scotland, Waste Aware Scotland and Walkers Shortbread.

McCallum commented, “Avian is an important player in the marketing industry in Scotland and this is testament to George’s creativity and hard work over the years, building the company to where it is today."

He continued: "We have been planning this over the last 18 months as George has approached his retirement - although he will continue to be involved in the business supporting us as a consultant.

“I am delighted to be leading the team along with my colleagues David and Alasdair and we have ambitious future plans for the agency which will build on our design and digital credentials.”
