Specialist woodworker and designer, Derek Welsh has worked with Graphical House to launch a new suite of promotional literature.

Welsh fabricates handmade furniture from natural materials, commissioned for both private homes and corporate interiors. Graphical House first crossed paths with Welsh in 2009 at The Scottish Show Switzerland, an exhibition co-curated by The Lighthouse and MUDAC (Musée de Design et d’Arts Appliqués Contemporains).

The Glasgow-based studio has now developed promotional materials for his London showing at 100% Design, the UK’s leading design and architecture event.

Daniel Ibbotson, creative director at Graphical House said: "His workman-like methods echo our aesthetic approach and collective mindset in many ways, so he trusted us to create illustrations that steer the presentation in a slightly different direction when compared to most of his fellow makers. After completing a full identity suite, we built his website and offered some ideas on future business directions.

"As members of the tightknit creative community here in Scotland, we share a sense of values with Derek, and that’s why we’ve asked him to exhibit his work right here in our Merchant City studio. This allows us to promote his work and expand our network by engaging the public, as they walk past or maybe even come inside for a closer look."
