The website of defunct Manchester business paper Crain's is encouraging readers to visit former rival thebusinessdesk.com to keep up with the latest news.

A statement on the site says The Business Desk has struck an agreement with publisher Crain Communications to "ensure continuity of service" for its online readership.

At the moment this only seems to be manifesting itself in the Business Desk reacing out to Crain's readers through the Crain's homepage and inviting them to check out its service.

A message on the site reads: "TheBusinessDesk.com would like to invite all Crain's subscribers to spend just one minute signing up to our service to ensure you are kept abreast of every breaking business news story that affects Manchester and all the cities and towns across the region."

By encouraging Crain's readers to sign up to the Business Desk, it would appear the "agreement" between the two parties does not extend to sharing Crain's subscriber details.
