Manchester studio Skylab has launched a new online video platform which it claims will offer clients a simple means to add HD video to their websites.

The MediaTank platform, unveiled today, has been "designed with non-technical users in mind" and can be bolted-on to existing websites and branded to fit a site's style.

Skylab is offering clients the service for a monthly fee which covers the bandwith charges incurred by hosting video.

Manchester's inward investment agency, MIDAS, has already signed up to use the service, which was trialled by Manchester PR agency SKV before its launch.

Nigel Collier, Skylab's managing director, said: "The government predicts that by the end of this year, video will make up more than half of all UK internet traffic. Businesses therefore need a simple solution that allows them to communicate successfully with their target audience, anywhere in the world."
