Swiss sportswear brand BURRDA, which will manufacture football kits for Wolves and Watford from next season, has appointed Smoking Gun PR to announce its arrival into the UK.

The sports company has recently signed deals to be the club sponsor of Championship outfit Watford and to create the kits for Premier League side Wolves.

Charles Diab, Burrda general manager, said: “We chose Smoking Gun PR in part for their expertise in working in the sporting and technical apparel arenas and also for their attitude and approach. They mirror our ‘challenger’ business ambition and are very well connected in our field.”

In other news Smoking Gun has been signed up by Manchester lettings company yourshack.co.uk and designer outdoor furnite company Outdoor Chic.

Smoking Gun's managing director, Rick Guttridge, said: "All the briefs were for innovative companies looking to do something different in their market places and they felt we understood their vision and would enhance their offer.

“We’ve been quietly pleased with our progress since launch and have a healthy pitch success rate. Our work has been diverse and seen us involved with challenging social matters and crisis management issues, as well as big brand names and legends from the music and sports worlds such as Elton John, Louis Walsh, Rio Ferdinand, David Weir and Shay Given.” Smoking Gun was opened by former Brazen PR man Rick Guttridge, and his wife Vanessa, in March.
