A new marketing manager, Rachel Bartholomew, has been hired by Manchester Jazz Festival as it also elects two new members from the city’s marketing and PR community to its board.

Bartholomew has spent the last year working freelance as an events and projects co-ordinator having also worked at Manchester International Arts in 2009 as press manager. She has also previously worked for Urban Moves International Dance Festival and British Dance: Edition for Liverpool Capital of Culture as well as The Lowry and Without Walls Festival Consortium.

Bartholowmew will be joined on the festival’s team by Sunnuva Beck, festival co-ordinator.

Also joining will be Jill Taylor, founding partner of Stealth and Jon Clements, partner at Staniforth, who have been elected to the board.

Steve Mead artistic director of Manchester Jazz Festival, commented; “I’m delighted to welcome new staff onto the team this year to help us reach our objectives: Rachel Bartholomew brings a wealth of marketing expertise to the position of mjf marketing manager and Sunny Baek her calm efficiency to the festival co-ordinator post. Alongside this, I’m tremendously excited that Jon Clements of Staniforth PR and Jill Taylor of Stealth have agreed to join our board of trustees.

“Their insight, enthusiasm and tireless commitment will ensure that we stay on track and help spread the word about the second-to-none music scene that Manchester has on its doorstep," added Mead.
