Preston Vision, a collective of leaders and senior figures from the public and private sector in Preston, has unveiled its plans for a branding exercise that will result in a ten year revitalisation of the city.

With the aim of attracting inward investment, and changing the way the city markets itself, the process will involve a series of workshops engaging with captains of industry, influential leaders and wider Preston stakeholders to “reveal a truly visionary approach to guiding the city through the next decade”.

Emma Blackman, head of marketing and communications at Preston Vision, explained that "Preston needs to change the way it talks about itself and promotes itself”.

“A clear, ambitious vision of what Preston should be in ten years will give the city the focus and the energy that it has needed since it gained city status. This, combined with a clear, strong brand, will enable Preston to stand on an equal platform with other UK and European cities.”

The ten year programme is part of a wider 'place making' brand process for the city, which aims to promote the personality of Preston, marking it out as a viable investment opportunity for business and ready for regeneration.

Runcorn HR consultancy Meta has been appointed to facilitate the Vision exercise.
