CG animation studio RealtimeUK says it has added four new full-time staff and seven contract animators as part of a team reshuffle that sees MD Tony Prosser take charge of business development.

Prosser takes on the extra duties following the departure of the Lancashire studio's business development director, Andrew Lord, in March. He left to open his own CGI and visual FX studio, Flipbook, in Manchester.

Realtime's new arrivals are producer Jane Forsyth and Senior VFX artist Graham Collier - both formerly of Red Vision - and character animators Flavio Biondi from Rome and Lee Cashmore of Teeside University.

The new arrivals come after Prosser "re-evaluated" the company’s process of handling clients from sales through to creative briefing and project delivery.

In a change to the independent outfit's production process, now once projects have been won, producers will be allocated to clients along with their own creative lead on a one-on-one basis right from the start of a project.

Prosser explained: "We work with some of the biggest brands and advertising agencies in the UK but we’re never complacent about our service offering. We’ve listened to feedback from our clients about what we can do to make a smoother and more creative production process for both our team and the client. Again we’re proving our commitment to excellence in our creative service.

“It is an exciting time for us, as our studio is very much back in growth mode, which marks not only an economic recovery, but a turnaround for the video games and advertising industries”.
