The Leith Agency have been appointed to handle a variety of campaigns for Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE), the UK’s second largest energy supplier, after a competitive pitch that included agencies from both London and Scotland.

The news is a boost not only for The Leith Agency, but also for the wider Scottish advertising industry as it had been speculated in the London trade press that SSE was looking to London for its advertising needs after calling a pitch.

The energy giant works and has worked with Scottish agencies such as The Union, Story and The Gate Worldwide for marketing across its different divisions.

SSE brand manager Jonny Petrie said: “We're really pleased to have the Leith Agency on board. We're excited to tap into their creative expertise for some upcoming challenges and look forward to building a rewarding relationship."

Richard Marsham, group managing partner of the Leith Agency, added: “We’re absolutely delighted to be appointed to this high profile piece of business. They’re a very progressive and innovative company to work with and culturally it felt like a great fit straight away.”

The campaigns will focus on advertising and community work and sees The Leith Agency join other agencies The Gate and Story on the SSE roster.
