Matthew Graham and Ashley Pharoah, the scriptwriting team that created Ashes to Ashes, have commissioned Taxi Studio to refresh the website and branding for their company Monastic Productions.

Taxi will create a brand identity and web materials which it says will help satisfy requests for content and information from Monastic's fans and help get the brand in front of production companies across the world.

Graham and Pharoah, who developed Life on Mars and created BBC drama Bonekickers, formed Monastic in 2006 but their current website (pictured) doesn't appear to have had too many updates since then - hence Bristol-based Taxi's appointment.

"Ash and I are thrilled to have found some like-minded West Country lads to work with as we look to refresh and extend the Monastic brand," Graham said.

Taxi's creative director, Spencer Buck, said the collaboration came around - as many great opportunities do - after a meeting in the pub.

"We met over ciders and pork scratchings in our local; the chemistry was immediate... lots of laughter, casual chat and chewing the cud, interrupted only by a couple of calls from Hollywood (which sadly weren't for us)," Buck said.

Taxi will create an identity that shows the "complementary but different characters of Matt and Ash" and will draft in the support of a digital agency to help create the online elements.

"The website is obviously the medium to meet fans' needs and build word of mouth within the TV community," Buck said.

"Matt already spends hours on twitter and other sites talking to thousands of fans, we'll be looking into ways to simplify and reduce the man hours involved in creating this kind of content, while balancing the need to keep fans informed and excited about the TV shows currently running, and the shows and feature films currently in development."
